Laser-focused on breast cancer research.

About Breast Cancer Canada
Breast Cancer Canada is a national charity dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. With a focus on precision oncology (personalized care), it is the only national breast cancer organization in Canada that has a clear mandate to raise money for research and advocate and educate on the progress of new research evidence.
Everyday, researchers are working hard to advance our understanding of this disease. To detect it earlier and treat it better. We know research will deliver results. And with your support to raise more funds, a future with no more breast cancer is possible.
Research
We drive progress through groundbreaking research in basic science, screening and detection, and treatment — accelerating improvements in care and outcomes for people facing breast cancer.
Education
We empower Canadians with trusted information about early detection, routine screening, and the latest in breast cancer research. We ensure vital knowledge reaches people where they live, learn, and listen.
Advocacy
We advocate for early and equitable access to breast cancer screening and personalized treatment nationwide — ensuring every patient in Canada has the care they need, when they need it most.
Patient Tools
We provide trusted, research-informed information to inform patients at every stage of their breast cancer journey— while creating opportunities for individuals to share their lived experience to shape future care.
Our Commitment
Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in the world, according to the World Health Organization. In Canada, 1 in 8 women will face a diagnosis in their lifetime. This year alone, nearly 30,000 Canadians will be diagnosed with the disease.
But breast cancer isn’t just one disease—there are over 50 types, each with unique challenges and complexities. That’s why research matters more than ever.
At Breast Cancer Canada, we commission and fund groundbreaking research to advance detection, improve treatment, and deliver better outcomes for patients. Our mission is to accelerate progress through science—supporting innovations that empower those affected and move us closer to a future without breast cancer.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every Canadian has access to the best possible care—and ultimately, a world without breast cancer. Through bold investment in research and a relentless focus on patient outcomes, we’re committed to making that future a reality.

“At Breast Cancer Canada, we believe that the future of breast cancer care lies in precision. And, in research that’s as unique as every person diagnosed. Our commitment is clear: to accelerate progress, improve outcomes, and ensure that every Canadian, no matter where they live or who they are, has access to the most advanced care possible. Together, we’re not just funding research — we’re shaping the future of breast cancer.”

“Breast Cancer Canada believes in building on the outstanding progress that’s been made so far. With more research, we know we can end breast cancer. Precision oncology is absolutely transforming the ways that breast cancer is managed. It’s driven by data, knowledge and certainly compassion too. Advances have led to new discoveries and care plans that are tailored to a person’s genetic makeup and the genomic profile of an individual’s tumor.”

Regional Hubs
At Breast Cancer Canada, we bring together people who are passionate about progress—wherever they are. Through local action and national impact, we make our mission personal and our goals local.
Our Regional Hubs are an essential part of this work. They help us build strong connections across the country, uniting communities, advocates, and supporters in our shared commitment to advancing breast cancer research and improving outcomes for patients.

Breast Cancer Canada has a national strategy to bring our vision to end breast cancer to local regional hubs.
Each local member hub can help turn our vision into local action by designing their community portfolio, and supporting national research at the same time.
A vital purpose of our Regional Hubs is our Patient Reported Outcomes research. Our volunteers are working with local cancer centers to assist patients with recording their treatments, the effects, the side effects and the outcomes to help direct new research initiatives for better patient care during the breast cancer journey.
