Breast Cancer Canada has launched a national survey to better understand how cancer care navigation is experienced across the country, from both the patient and oncology nurse navigator perspective.
Cancer care can be complex and overwhelming. For many patients, nurse navigators play an important role in guiding through diagnosis, treatment, and beyond. They help coordinate care, provide information, connect patients to resources, and offer support throughout the journey. However, navigation services are not consistent across Canada. Access, scope of support, and continuity of care can vary depending on location and system capacity.
This survey will help us better understand:
- How patients experience navigation support
- What services nurse navigators are providing
- Where gaps or disruptions in care may occur
- How navigation services can be strengthened
By gathering input from both patients and nurse navigators, we aim to identify opportunities to improve care coordination and ensure navigation services better meet the needs of people affected by cancer.
